EMDR RATES
AND INSURANCE COVERAgEs

OUR Rates for EMDR Therapy

Our EMDR therapists set hourly rates based on training, work experience, and industry standards.

The range for a 50-minute session is $150-$170.

Our therapists also offer longer, 80-minute sessions so you can get through more over the course of one appointment.

Ashley Phillips is now offering EMDR Intensive Sessions with limited availability. During an EMDR Intensive Sessison, you spend a full day working with Ashley.

Depending on the situation and your treatment plan, a half-day session is also available. With more complex trauma, booking 2 or 3 sessions close together can be beneficial.

If you're interested in an EMDR intensive, contact us at info@kelownaemdr.ca

Insurance Benefits Coverage for EMDR

We accept a variety of group benefit and enhanced health care plans, with many employer-sponsored plans offering coverage for mental health services. To find out if your plan covers counselling/therapy and specifics of that coverage, check with your provider or plan administrator.

Did you know?

Many companies offer extended health benefits that include coverage for counselling. Whether it's a set annual total, a percentage of the cost for each visit, or a flat amount per appointment, check with your organization's benefits administrator for details on your specific plan's coverage.

While we're not (yet) able to directly bill Pacific Blue Cross on your behalf, you can submit your receipt to your plan provider for reimbursement.

Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members have mental health benefits through Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) through Medavie Blue Cross. Get in touch to find out which of our therapists are registered with Medavie. RCMP members with CAF service may be eligible - contact VAC.

Direct Billing

When we can, we direct-bill your benefits provider. Sometimes insurance companies don't allow for direct billing and we might not know until we try to submit a claim on your behalf. We ask that clients be prepared to pay for sessions at the time of the appointment, just in case.

Where your plan permits it, we can often direct bill these benefits plan providers:

ICBC Coverage For EMDR Therapy

A car or motor vehicle accident can result in a number of unpleasant symptoms, including sleepless nights, flashbacks, anxiety when driving or cycling, or the sense of being “on edge”. Whether it was a major accident or minor incident, these are normal symptoms.

EMDR therapy can be an effective solution to processing trauma related to an accident.

ICBC Enhanced Care covers anyone involved in a motor vehicle accident (driver, passenger, cyclist, or pedestrian) for 12 sessions - no matter who was at fault, if it's within the Early Access Period of those first 12 weeks. There's no wait time for approvals, and all you need is your ICBC claim number.

After the first 12 weeks following the car accident, you'll need an approval from your claims adjuster.
