Meet Janice Tuling
she/her/hers

No matter what we've navigated in life, we each have incredible resiliency, innate wisdom, and capacity to heal. To live a life that's more peaceful and meaningful. Trauma and life stressors can get stuck in our nervous system, blocking this healing and preventing us from living our lives fully.

Janice's approach to counselling is starting wherever you are, at this moment, working together to find a way through. With a heart-centred, gentle, emotionally safe, trauma-sensitive and non-judgemental approach, together you will lift what's holding you back and shift to access your wisdom and build growth.

A Registered Social Worker, Janice approaches her practice using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapies as her primary modalities. She completed a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University (Ontario), EMDR Basic Training with Sue Genest (Life Journeys Counselling), EMDR Child Specialist Intensive training with Ana Gomez (Agate Institute), and Internal Family Systems Level 1 Training with the IFS Institute.  Janice is also currently training in EMDR for Grief and Loss, complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (c-PTSD), attachment wounding and the Integration of EMDR with IFS Therapies.

As a social worker of 20+ years in not-for-profit and government funded settings, Janice has witnessed and supported many people navigating significant life changes and transitions. Individuals with emotional pain, and lack of self-compassion and purpose.

When not counselling clients, Janice works in the field of adoptions with birth parents and adoptive parents. This work connects her to people who have navigated grief & loss, infertility, attachment wounds, shame, trauma and multiple losses/gaps of identity.

As a mom of two (a tween and a teen) she's learning every day. Parenting and watching them grow and become their own people is a humbling and great privilege. It's also the hardest training she's had to date! When not driving her kids to their activities, Janice is often listening to and making music with her husband, hanging out with friends & family, camping & being in nature, listening to podcasts and reading, or walking their crazy but loveable dog Asher.

It's an honour to support you on your healing path, to witness and help you to see your innate beauty and wisdom as you reclaim your authentic self and find more peace and meaning in your life.

Janice's main modalities are EMDR and Internal Family Systems Therapy.
