adhd + asd assessments
for adults
by a registered psychologist

Understanding
yourself starts here.

Registered psychologist Lisa Harder offers compassionate and insightful adult psychological assessments, helping you to get clarity in your life and move forward with confidence.

Maybe you wonder why some things feel harder than they should - like staying on top of tasks, managing your energy, or feeling like you're working twice as hard just to keep up. Or you've come across some information that has you thinking "that sounds exactly like me".

An assessment is a space to get clarity. Whether you're exploring ADHD, autism, or both, the process is designed around you. Gain an understanding of how your mind works and get practical recommendations to help you move forward — at work, in relationships, and in daily life.

Assessment Process

01.

Initial Consultation

Once your initial consultation is booked, you'll receive forms to complete through the Jane app.

Lisa will work with you to determine the path forward for the assessment process.

At the end of this appointment, you will choose a time to book your assessments.

02.

Testing & Assessments

One or two sessions of approximately 3–3.5 hours each. These are in-person or by video.

The assessment questionnaires you receive are based on your responses from pre-screening. Some may be sent to someone who knows you well.

Testing booklets are couriered to you ahead of virtual sessions.

03.

Interpretation & Reports

Lisa reviews all information provided from the assessments and interprets the results.

She personally writes your report based on a clinical evaluation.

04.

Debrief &  Next Steps

You'll have a Debrief Appointment where Lisa reviews your report. You'll go over next steps.

All reports include diagnoses where applicable, clear recommendations, and accommodation suggestions - including if additional testing may be considered.

Step 1: Book an initial consultation.

In this initial appointment, Lisa will determine which assessment path(s) will be best for you. When you book the appointment, you'll set up a client account and complete forms for pre-screening. The initial consultation cost is part of the overall assessment rate; while an important step to determining your assessment path with Lisa, a consultation is not a guarantee of service.

Step 2: Testing + assessments.

From consultation and pre-screening forms, Lisa determines the assessment path(s) best for you. Depending on the assessment, you may need someone who knows you well to complete some of the questionnaires (emailed directly to that person). You will meet for 1-2 testing sessions approximately 3-3.5 hours each. For virtual appointments, testing booklet(s) are sent by courier.

Step 3: Interpretation and report.

After the information is gathered, Lisa reviews and interprets the data. She writes a report based on clinical evaluation that includes diagnoses if applicable, clear recommendations, and suggestions for accommodation(s) as appropriate. This process takes approximately 3-4 weeks. Lisa will then schedule your "Debrief" appointment.

Step 4: Debrief & next steps.

In the Debrief Appointment, you review the report together and you can ask questions. You'll receive a copy of the report after this appointment. Additional testing may be recommended.

Assessment Costs

The cost of the assessment will vary depending on the type of assessment. More on that in the Frequently Asked Questions below!

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my insurance or extended benefits plan cover the costs?

Lisa is a Registered Psychologist in British Columbia and is registered with many insurance / extended benefit plan providers. Costs may or may not be eligible for coverage; it depends on your individual plan. Please contact your provider directly to find out if assessment costs are eligible. If covered, most plans require client payment and reimburse you if you are eligible for coverage.

What are my payment options?

Payment for your initial consultation ($245) is required at time of the appointment.

From there, we take payment in two stages:

  • 50% of the total cost is due at the time of your first testing session / assessment appointment

    • depending on the assessment, this will range from $980 - $1,592.50

  • 50% remaining is due the day of the debrief

    • depending on the assessment, this will range from $1,225 - $1,837.50)

How do I prepare for the testing session(s)?

There is nothing to prepare for. With virtual ADHD assessments, you'll need a mouse (wired or wireless) and a set of headphones for one of the tests - please ensure you have these for the testing date. And for any virtual assessment, please ensure you have something to write with.

Can I use this report for legal purposes or a legal matter I plan to pursue?

No, Lisa does not offer assessments for legal purposes. We can refer you to other providers who work in this area.

Is a diagnosis guaranteed?

Diagnoses are based on information gathered throughout the assessment and the psychologist’s interpretation of the data when putting things together. As such, it is unethical to provide a diagnosis if the data does not support it. Additionally, further testing may be required.

If I have an ADHD and/or ASD assessment and I don't receive a diagnosis of either, what are my next steps?

The goal of Lisa’s assessments are to rule in/out ADHD and/or ASD and to consider other reasons you may experience concerns. In some cases this could result in recommendation for testing at a later date, or involve additional measures being completed at the time of your current assessment.

Will you provide individual therapy to me after the assessment?

Lisa cannot provide individual therapy to those she completes assessments for; however, she can connect you with therapists who can assist you and other resources you may need.

I've read this and have more questions. What should I do?

Please reach out to Lisa at lisa@kelownaemdr.ca for any questions or clarification.

I'm ready to book a consultation! What's the next step?
