Meet Lori Oye
she/her/hers

Hello! My name is Lori and for over two decades, I’ve had the privilege of serving the Okanagan community, initially as an educator and later as a school counsellor and behavioural interventionist.

Since childhood, I’ve been drawn to supporting children in realizing their fullest potential. Witnessing the way children perceive and interact with the world has always fascinated me. I’ve observed that when children endure pain, their behaviours often serve as expressions of that hurt. I firmly believe in the transformative power of play for children. Through play, children naturally navigate their experiences, articulate their feelings, and find avenues for healing.

My aim is to guide my clients, no matter their age, towards a place of inner peace, belonging, and profound healing, liberating them from the burdens of shame, guilt, and loneliness. As Brené Brown, a leading expert on vulnerability and shame, beautifully expressed, “Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we’ll ever do.” Through compassionate counselling, I seek to create a space where children and parents can bravely confront their stories, embrace their vulnerabilities, and embark on a path towards healing and self-love.

In addition to my professional endeavours, I’ve received my most profound training through the joys and challenges of raising two daughters who are now emerging into early adulthood. Witnessing their growth, learning, and self-discovery has been the greatest joy of my life. When I’m not engaged in helping others on their healing journeys, you can often find me savouring the breathtaking views while hiking or exploring the local wineries. I also find immense pleasure in the simple joys of reading, playing board games, and sharing moments of connection with friends and family over coffee or dinners.
