Meet Bryanna MacLaren
she/her/hers

If you’ve navigated trauma, whether a singular event or layers of adversity, you’ve already shown immense courage. I’m a Registered Social Worker and EMDR trained therapist. I hold a deep commitment to supporting individuals healing from trauma and complex PTSD. Together we’ll create a route in healing that honours your story.

In the therapy room, my approach is grounded in empathy, reliability, and a genuine belief in the power of inner strength and self‑compassion. I work with clients who’ve encountered a range of challenges, including childhood abuse or maltreatment, intimate partner violence, religious or racial trauma, and shock or accidental traumas. My goal is to make you feel accepted and cared for every step of the way, helping you feel seen, safe, and ready to move forward.

My primary therapeutic modality includes the use of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), which you can expect to be the foundation of our therapeutic work together. I hold Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work; specializing in clinical therapeutic practice. I'm a Registered Social Worker with the BCCSW.

Growing up on Vancouver Island, I’ve always enjoyed grounding myself in the mountains. In the stillness of the mountains and in the stories I’ve had the honour to witness, I learn there is profound strength in cultivating self-compassion and determination. I’ve come to see how the human experience of overcoming adversity mirrors the challenge of summiting a peak.

If you’re looking for support, it would be a privilege to walk alongside you as you navigate your own ascent toward healing and growth.

Outside of the office I'm most often deep in the backcountry, off the grid, enjoying my favourite pastime - mountain biking.
